KUMB
When this site went down I paid it a visit. My God, they make Sir Alf seem like Ricky Gervais - and no one called anyone a cunt, or even a nincompoop. It's just pages upon pages of grey drivel.

Thank the Lord for WHO!!

As If you know anyone to phone. I bet even the speaking clock refuses to accept your calls.

Re: KUMB
"Social Media" only became an item once Facebook/Twitter gained serious traction.

This, and many other equivalent sites that pre-date that point in time were - and still are - chat rooms, or whatever the 64k dial-up era named them.

Re: KUMB
I thought this site in the 90s was before the advent of the term “social media” but the irony is not lost on me :-) if it became categorised as such. Its for a few fat, old middle aged oe old aged twats? ( well thats me anyway )

I've said this several times before (probably even on the Anxiety thread): switch your phone off for a week; go off line for 7 days and punch your life out of the hands that own it and back into your control.

But nobody dares.

Everybody is too scared of "missing out" on something, even though what they are "missing out" on has the square root of fuck-all impact on their life.

I tell everybody now "Don't phone me - send me a text/e-mail and I'll get back to you when I (ME) am ready - you can't wait? tough shit, it's my life, not yours. Deal with it.

The internet (over the mobile phone network) is not a substitute for your all-knowing, all-seeing GOD/nanny/mother. It doesn't give a fuck about you.

Re: KUMB
Personally ive never used Social media and only ever posted on this forum since the late 90s because its not moderated. Just putting opinions across should be easy you wouod think? I get things wrong all the time and bore everyone but its good therapy :-) In fact imo the site is a great window into the psychology of people generally. Fishing attempts to get a feeling of power over people, personal attacks and insults and exposure of the weak peychology of those with insecurities and inadequacies. Evidenced by the inability to be open minded and aggressive with anyone who has an alternative viewpoint or simply says something that hits a nerve etc. Posters trying desperately to elevate themselves above others every day in every thread :-)

The lack of willingness to be wrong, to apologise or say sorry further examples of insecurity and inadequacies and of couree over compensated by their huge egos and hubris.

The site is a microcosm of our culture in many ways with the overriding theme being lack of humility.

Thats what makes it so entertaining. Long may it continue. Keep those insults coming !! The next WHOicide cant quick enough :-)

U cvnts !!!

Any site will suffer if you can't use the words 'cunt', fuck, bollocks, and 'shit', or be disbarred for abusing someone for not sharing an opinion.

KUMB is the "high tea and tiffin" of West Ham websites. While us normal supporters crawl around in the piss, shit and bile we all love so much.

Long may that continue. And proper fuck the lot of you.

I have only ever gone onto KUMB twice in about 25 years. Just out of curiosity. The design looks boring and the conversation was boring too. Full of fucking saps.

Re: KUMB
I went on there to see what the fuck had happened to this shit box of a site. It was dry as a nuns cunt on there. No news either. Bunch of librarians. However I do find that I get thrown out/banned/muted on almost every forum other than this one because I'm so used to the relative freedom we have to call each other cunts if we want. I'd last two minutes on KUMB, they'd be crying into their weak lemon drinks.

Re: KUMB
I’ve only been on Kumb about half a dozen times over 20 years to have a read.

There was a great thread they had about the origins of the club crest, but that’s about the only thing I’ve read in depth on there.

It serves its own purpose though.

“ Would be a shame to see it die. (Alex V's) site and KUMB were the only two dedicated WHUFC websites you could share your views on in the late 1990s, long before social media (Facebook, Twitter, Inst etc) was invented. Though it's not been quite the same since he packed it in.”

I’ve always wondered what kicked off the demise of WHO but could never put my finger on it !
